Course Description

The History of India describes the story of the Indian subcontinent from ancient times to the present. It explains how different civilizations, kingdoms, cultures, and movements developed and shaped the country. India has one of the oldest and richest histories in the world, with developments in culture, religion, science, trade, and governance.

Historians generally divide Indian history into three main periods: Ancient, Medieval, and Modern.
